The Epic Highs and Lows of Coachella 2016

On Friday, I was standing at the cashier station of Blaze Pizza, where I work, sulking over how badly I wanted to be at Coachella this year. I even stayed off Snapchat for a few days so that I wouldn’t see people’s stories as they enjoyed themselves under the warm sun in Indio, California.

I’m sure a lot of you are aware of what Coachella is and how great of a turn out Coachella has every year. Yeah, tickets may be from $500 and up, but man, I bet it’s so worth it.

All over social media, as much as I tried to stay away, I saw photos of some of my favorite celebrities living it up the entire three days of the festival.

Starting with Coachella veteran, Vanessa Hudgens. Every year, Vanessa and her “squad” look flawless at Coachella. This year, Hudgens and her sister, Stella, hit the desert for a weekend of fun. Their outfits were so amazing, channeling their inner boho chic for the event.

From this stylish pair of sisters, came an even longer list of artists who rocked the best Coachella gear yet. Z Berg, from the small Indie band, Phases, rocked the cutest white romper at the small KROQ FM concert that was held on Friday afternoon.

Phases is one of my favorite bands ever and gosh, I would have done anything to be at Coachella to see them. Just like me, another one of my favorite artists is a Phases fan. He actually introduced me to them. Now, I know he wasn’t necessarily dressed in typical Coachella attire, but I have to give him props for even showing up this year.

Ryan Ross, the old guitarist for Panic! at the Disco, rocked two casual and comfortable outfits for Coachella this year.

Speaking about Panic! at the Disco, Halsey performed on the second night of Coachella and brought along a very special guest: Brendon Urie, the lead singer of the band.

After Halsey finished her set, she finished the last few lines of her song “New Americana” with Urie and continued on to sing a crowd favorite: “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” by Urie’s band. Now, I personally am not a favorite of their performance. Their voices are both so different and their music style is, too. I’ve listened to their performance more than once, but I just can’t get into the way it sounded. Halsey’s voice sounded raspy and raw while Brendon’s sounded so well-rehearsed.

17-year-old Alessia Cara made her first Coachella appearance and really killed it. As she was backstage, she and a friend took over Coachella Day 2’s Snapchat story to answer fan questions as she got ready for soundcheck. When it was time for her actual set, she absolutely killed it! She sang some of her newest singles, “Here” and “Wild Things,” while also singing other songs off her debut album Know-It-All. I am a huge fan of Alessia’s and I couldn’t be more proud of everything she has accomplished.

Another Coachella veteran made an appearance this year. Ellie Goulding was back again this year after not having been at Coachella in 2 years. She sang plenty of fan favorites such as, “Lights” and “Burn,” as well

Today, Coachella Weekend 2 kicks off, and as far as I know, the line up has stayed the same. Hopefully we get some more pictures of artists being absolutely fashionable and some more performances to remember.
