Just in case Donald Trump forgot to remind you, he’s at the top of the polls at this very moment. He causes hysteria every time his lips part and it makes you question whether he does this purposely. Is Trump wise enough to make controversial comments so that his name stays in people’s mouth or does he truly think this way? Everyone’s keeping their fingers-crossed that he’s just playing the publicity game wisely. His actions have made many label him as childish and question his ability to be president. Many also ask whether America can survive on a president that feels the need to insult a candidate’s appearance whenever he feels threatened. Nevertheless, Trump continues to lead the race by a landslide.

According to biography.com, Donald Trump was born in Queens, New York on June 14, 1946 to Frederick C. Trump and Mary MacLeod Trump. Furthermore, the website also talks about his father who was a builder and real estate developer, leading Trump to find interest in those careers. Donald Trump was well-educated and well-mannered person when he was young. He attended New York Military Academy at the age of 13 and spent 2 years at Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. As he started to come out to the public, he became very popular, becoming one of the most well-known and successful businessmen.

His run for presidential election obtained him a cover on every television screen. His many controversial statements and actions have people rooting for him or plotting against him. On television people see a rude and unmannered man who simply wants America to change “for the better”. An article by huffingtonpost.com writes about the presidential debate and states the 19 changes Trump wants to make for America (“Donald Trump’s 19-Point Plan to Make America The Best”). One of the most controversial statements is his plan to build a great wall between Mexico and the U.S. to prevent illegal immigration. According to pewresearch.org, 11.3 million immigrants came to the U.S. illegally in 2014. It’s understandable why this can be a huge problem. Many people disagree with the wall because of personal family experiences or their morals. Others consider the economic benefits. They believe that sooner or later our economy and country will not be able to hold these large amounts of people coming in all at once. This on-going debate is definitely one of the most focused on for Trump’s campaign.

In conclusion, Donald Trump has some unique points that people are divided on. The news can also cloud our thoughts on him and other candidates as well. Therefore, do research about the candidate before you make up your mind about him.
