“I’ve spent all my life surrounded by a growing community of minority groups. Social inequality is an issue that persists throughout the United States, despite the previous attempts to stop and bring equality to the people. However, years late, the majority remain underrepresented and social issues persist. Gender stratification, income inequality, and discrimination to undocumented students are some of the inequalities that remain in the United States. Being an undocumented student, I have feared the unexpected future that is to come. I want our next president to touch bases with this issue in an attempt to solve it. Whether or not it’s resolved completely remains in the hands of the future president in power, but as a part of the rising majority, I hope these issues are set for change. Regardless of the outcome, I want my future president to not be a coward. He or she shouldn’t be afraid of the people they represent, in fact, they should embrace change, as it will bring more positive into the world than negative. In order to bring prosperity into this country, our president must decide whether or not to give us all a chance at success.” ~ Erick P.
