Aurora
Her full name being Aurora Aksnes, Aurora is just a 19 year old from Norway with a powerful voice. Once you hear her voice, you are sure to fall in love. What I really love is that she is one of the few artists who writes songs with feeling and emotions and not just stereotypical party songs like most current artists seem to write. Her most recent album called All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend was released on March 11, 2016. This album includes her empowering songs “Conquer”, “Warrior”, “Running With The Wolves” (one of my favorites from the whole album), and many more that I’m sure will fascinate you.
Lukas Graham
You might think that Lukas Graham is the name of a singer, but it is actually the name of a band. Lukas Graham is a “pop-soul” band from Denmark that includes lead singer Lukas Graham, bassist Magnus Larsson, drummer Mark Falgren, and keyboard player Kaspar Daugaard. I heard from this band when I was on YouTube and accidentally pushed on one of the recommended videos, which I don’t regret. One of their most popular songs is “ 7 Years,” which I personally recommend to hear because it has a great meaning and sound to it with Lukas Graham’s beautiful voice. The song “7 Years,” alongside other of my favorites “Mama Said” and “Strip No More,” were included in their Lukas Graham (Blue Album) in 2015. Although their 2015 album only consisted of three songs, the band will be releasing a full album in 2016 with these three songs included and many more.
Troye Sivan
Like me, you might know him from YouTube when he first started doing covers and videos. I was so excited to see that he gained popularity starting last year and continuing this year because he has a truly wonderful voice. There are artists that you instantly recognize by their unique voices, like Ellie Golding, and Troye Sivan is one of those artists. Troye Sivan was born in South Africa and originally began acting. In 2014 he released his EP TRXYE and one of his songs in that EP was “Happy Little Pill”, which I still love. In 2015 he announced he would be releasing another EP named Wild , which didn’t disappoint. At the end of 2015 he released his first full album, Blue Neighbourhood, which included songs like “Wild” and “Youth”, which are only some of my favorites. Taylor Swift and Sam Smith are some of the artists that have congratulated Troye on his great music.
