Calling All the Girls
Most of you may know who Michelle Obama is. When hearing her name we automatically think of the First Lady of the United States, and the woman who pushes kids to eat healthier and live a healthy lifestyle. But what many of you may not know is that our First Lady has even better projects and one by one, is starting to make the world a better place.
Living in a society where girls can get an education shows just how lucky we are. For many developed countries, people of any age or gender can get an education. But in most developing countries, girls don’t get an education. Around the world today there are 62 million girls without an education. Most of these girls are teenagers, just like us. So, instead of just letting this be another statistic, President Obama and Michelle Obama have launched an initiative called “Let Girls Learn”. Due to the consistency of Michelle Obama and the Peace Corps, many organizations have been involved in this campaign. These companies and organizations donate money or materials to girls in other countries to help them get an education.
The First Lady hasn’t stopped here. She’s been working with the Peace Corps, but this isn’t enough, so she took to social media.
