When has JLo ever disappointed us? From her stunning fashion decisions to her memorable movie roles, Lopez is always leaving us with our mouths dropped. Her performance at the AMAs was no different. This year was her first time ever hosting the AMAs and she made her entrance by performing a remix of every mainstream song. The backup dancers and colorful set left the crowd cheering and looking forward to the rest of the show.

Selena Gomez’s performance this year was the complete opposite from her emotional and angelic performance last year. Gomez rocked her new song, Same Old Love, on stage and some say it was her way of showing Justin Bieber what he was missing! Even if it wasn’t, she proved she was ready to hit that stage for her Revival tour.

Ariana Grande’s performance of her new hit song, Focus, was clearly a favorite. She got rid of her signature ponytail for the night, letting her mane free. Her performance consisted of top-notch choreography, a shimmy pink leotard, and the cheers from everyone in the crowd.

One Direction hit the stage, singing their single, Perfect. The color schemes of the boy’s wear and the stage made the performance very aesthetically pleasing.

Last but not least, Celine Dion stole the show with her moving tribute to the victims in the Paris attacks. A lit up Eiffel Tower was displayed in the background as Dion sang the french song, Hymne a L’amour, with such passion. Not one eye was left dry. Before her performance Jared Leto made an incredible speech stating: “Tonight we honor the victims of the unimaginable violence that has taken place this year in Paris and around the world. France matters, Russia matters, Syria matters, Mali matters, the Middle East matters, the United States matters — the entire world matters and peace is possible.”

What a wonderful way to end the 2015 American Music Awards.
