The Lady A’s volleyball team has only one mind set for this season, win, win, win all the way to the playoffs and beyond.

Even though the Lady A’s barely missed out on the playoffs last year, they made it to them this year. Sadly the Lady A’s did not manage to progress further into the playoffs after playing St. Anthony’s on November 10th. Mr. Kircher,  the team’s coach, plans to achieve this goal by “[helping] the girls develop their abilities”, so by the end of the season, both the newcomers and the veterans will have become more seasoned players.

When asked if Coach Kircher has put them through some tough training, junior Zarah F., who plays as a blocker  in the team and is a new addition to the team, said, “that the training isn’t too harsh on the body, but it does get people into shape”. When  Mr. Kircher  was  asked the same question he said that he puts the girls through somewhat of an intense workout: “[they] work out three days a week, go to the gym for two days and they play two games a week”. Now that’s one tough schedule.

When asked if this could be the Volleyball team’s best season, Sophomore DeAndria L., who plays as a setter and is a returning player, said, “Yes this year may be the best for volleyball because there are returning veteran players”. When the same question wasasked to, junior Zarah F., she said, “Yes because I feel that the training and our determination will be enough to get us to our goals”.

Overall, the girls were preparing for possibly their biggest season yet. The girl’s determination to win has been their biggest contributor to their success this season as well as their biggest asset in reaching their goal of reaching the playoffs and beyond.
