It has been a great start to the 2016-17 NBA season, especially for the Los Angeles Lakers. With the NBA season underway, many sports analysts, fans, and teams looked over the Los Angeles Lakers. Many have speculated the Lakers to play very poorly, especially with the absence of Kobe Bryant (who had just retired, coming out of a remarkable 60 point game against the Utah Jazz).

Their record is currently 10-12; the best starts that they’ve had for quite some time. During the 2015-16 NBA season, the Lakers didn’t win their tenth game until the beginning of the next year. However, this year, the Lakers have already won their tenth game, coming into the month of December. According to ESPN.com, the Lakers record has been projected to become 33-49. There has also been some speculation that the Lakers can make it to the playoffs this upcoming year. While it’s still too early to think about it, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Luke Walton also seems to be directing the Lakers on the right path. After coming off an incredible season as coach of the Warriors, Luke Walton is impressing many fans and sports analysts. He’s done an impressive job guiding the Lakers, and has even made it fun to watch them.

Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell have also contributed to the team. Brandon Ingram, a new addition to the team, has also had a great start to the season. He averages 8.1 points per game and 1.8 assists per game. These young players have so much talent and good chemistry; the next few seasons will be fun to watch.

One of the biggest accomplishments for the Lakers was beating Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors on November 4, and James Harden’s Rockets on the opening tip-off. The team also held a three game win-streak. It’s been a tough ride these past few seasons for the Lakers, but so far, they are proving to be one of the top elite teams.
