Congratulations to This Week’s MARC Raffle Winners!
Ten more MARC raffle winners were announced on Monday, March 14, 2016.
The MARC raffle is held every two weeks. Ten raffle tickets are pulled from the container in the office.
How did the MARC system come to be? HMSA teachers and staff first started giving out MARC raffle tickets during the 2014-2015 school year. HMSA teachers and staff believed that students needed an extra boost of encouragement. They wanted to reward students for positive behaviors that exemplified the goals of HMSA.
Therefore, teachers collaboratively determined what the letters in MARC would stand for:
- M for Motivation
- A for Accountability
- R for Respect
- C for Confidence
They believed that these were the traits that should be most encouraged.
Ms. Jordan expresses her admiration of MARC:
“I enjoy seeing students being rewarded for good things and positive effort.”
The winners of this MARC raffle drawing round got to choose from one of five prizes:

- 10 Detention Words Coupon
- Opportunity for a Field Trip
- Special Lunch (In-N-Out)
