HSM’10
I know what you’re thinking. 10 years already? Yes, it’s been 10 years since Troy and Gabriella met, and sang “Start of Something New” on New Year’s. On January 20th, the main cast (except for Zac Efron) reunited to talk about the memories and the obstacles they overcame together. With 7.7 million viewers on Disney Channel, High School Musical has put smiles on many faces.
Where are they now?
First, let’s talk about the cast. Zac Efron has continued with his acting career, continuously doing a great job in his roles. Many of his roles have shown how much he’s matured as an actor as well. He’s been in movies such as: Hairspray, 17 Again, Charlie St. Cloud, and more.

Vanessa Hudgens also known as Gabriella Montez hasn’t done any movies since 2012’s Gimme Shelter. She’s been dating another actor named Austin Butler. Although fans miss Zanessa, Vanessa and Austin are a cute couple, too!

Corbin Bleu is officially engaged! Not only that, but also cut his hair which made the girls scream. One successful movie Bleu was in was Jump In. It was a movie about a teenage boy that went through a tough time in his life, and enjoyed boxing and double-dutching. His co-star was also his biological father, David Reivers.

Monique Coleman, who played Taylor McKessie, is one of two of the cast members that tied the knot. She’s been in two other movies in the year of 2015. She will be on a show called Here We Go Again. The show will be premiering on TV One hopefully by the end of this year. Make sure you tune in!

Ashley Tisdale? What has Sharpay Evans been up to? Well, in 2014, she got married to musician, Christopher French. The couple did the unusual, and got married on a Monday. On top, of getting married, her hair is no longer blonde (See photos below).

What’s Ryan Evans been doing? He hasn’t been in any movies recently, but he has been on a show. The show Switched At Birth is on the channel ABC Family (now known as Freeform) and has been running since 2011. Catch him there!
The Tenth Year Reunion
The cast told stories of when they auditioned, rehearsed, and filmed. They showed each of their auditions, and of course everyone was shocked because of how they looked. Like I stated before, Zac Efron couldn’t make it, but the show must go on. They spoke about how things that their director, Kenny Ortega has said to them. Tears were shed and smiles widened, the cast reuniting was a memorable event to the fans.
Later on Instagram after the reunion aired, Corbin Bleu shared with us a heartwarming story: “At the end of filming HSM the cast received custom class rings to commemorate our incredible journey. At some point while touring my ring was lost or stolen and I was devastated. Ten years later @_moniquecoleman surprises me with an exact replica of my ring knowing how important it was to me. HSM brought many blessings into my life but the most important were these beautiful people. Thank you to the fans who made this possible. I hope you enjoy tonight’s special.
Thanks Mo❤️ #hsm10”
Corbin said,”Thank you to the fans who made this possible,” but little does he know, this movie has shaped the lives of many young people. We’re waiting for what the 20th anniversary of High School Musical has for us. Hopefully, Zac Efron will show up!
