Angels &Demons

If you’re looking for a story jam-packed with adventure, historical references, and a hint of romance, then Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown, is the book for you.

We meet Robert Langdon, a professor at Harvard University, who is called on for help and for is great knowledge on religious iconology and symbology. He is taken to CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, to investigate a crime. Soon, details reveal certain connections to the Illuminati and Vatican City- where the papal concave is being held. In what seems like a fight between religion and science, Brown manages incorporating seemingly unbiased opinions on the two matters.

I was hooked to the book for every page. That’s what I really like about books in these subjects. They incorporate actual facts, events, people, and places into a book of fiction. Even though it is fiction, one can learn so much. That’s what I like about learning- when it’s fun.

For me, sitting in classrooms all day and trying to get something out of it gets pretty tiring. But when I find a book that is truly exciting, AND I can learn from it- I really feel accomplished. It really opens my eyes when I figure out things I’ve personally never known before, and to figure it out in such amazing context. The action pulls me in, and the plot twists make me laugh and gape out of nowhere.

The fictional characters become so real to you that at times, you can’t help but cringe in embarrassment or snarl in anger. And outside of education, the book is simply fun! When you think one problem is over, another arises. It keeps things going greatly.

This is a book I would definitely recommend to everyone. The novel is at a book level of 5.6 with 23 points. A fairly large amount of points for an average book level. Go check it out! Who knows, you may be inserting yourself onto a whole new, yet ancient, path.
