The Dodgers will be advancing to the World Series to face off either the Astros or the Yankees. It’s been quite some time since the Dodgers made their last appearance in a World Series, which was in 1988. All in all, the Dodgers have won only six titles: 1955, 1959, 1963, 1965, 1981 and 1988. If either the Astros or Yankees win the National League Series (putting them up against the Dodgers), can the Dodgers exert enough effort to win the title series? We’ll just have to wait and see.

The final score was 11-1 with the Dodgers taking the win. The Cubs fell short, hoping to plan a huge comeback after previously winning game 4. The Dodgers were able to score in 5 innings; one point in the first and second innings, five points in the third inning, and 2 points each both the fourth and ninth innings. On the other hand, the Cubs struggled and only scored one point in the fourth inning.

Chris Taylor was a surprising breakout star this season. Only 27, Taylor transformed himself into one of the best leadoff batters with the best record in the major leagues. According to the LA Times, Taylor said in an interview, “I think I get it in every interview.” He added on to that saying, “‘What’s the difference in the success this year?’ And every time I’ve talked about my swing change” (LA Times).

In other news, Clayton Kershaw has had an amazing career in MLB. At a young age, Kershaw longed for the opportunity to play in the World Series, let alone win a championship title for the first time in his career and for the first time since the Dodgers won back in 1988. According to ESPN, Dave Roberts said: “One of the things that I told him [was about] getting an opportunity to play for a championship,” He also said, “he’s done everything he can on the baseball field, but the one thing that he’s missing is a championship” (Espn.com).

With the World Series coming up, the Dodgers are going in with a lot of confidence and energy, hoping to win the title for the first time in almost 30 years. Meanwhile, we still await the results of the Yankees and Astros National League Series.
