Creative Corner: Edition #3

This edition of Creative Corner features an original poem from senior Elvia Ochoa. Every single one of these works is from students just like you who send in prose, poems, or anything else they’d like to show off. If you would like to submit any of your own works to feature on this column, please send your works to my e-mail at [email protected]. Please enjoy “Cheer Is Hypocrisy.”

***

Conquer all, most of them, they like to say

And all have stood to brag, to cheer, to tell

Not act upon this ‘til the light of day.

Conquer all, said those who fell to doom, fell.

Let me tell you how much I despise them

Those who are blessed to be able to speak-

They say nothing but spout out countless lies

And of lies and false hope their meek souls reek.

Quickly their hearts like loud clocks tick, tick, tick

And heads- hollowed out heads with no brains- bruise.

For hypocrisy likes to make so sick

Those having a lying stench, those who lose.

You perceive yourself to hold this title

It’s easy to see it’s a recital.
