Congratulations to First Semester’s MARC Award Winners!
On Friday, February 12, 2016, HMSA awarded various students with the first semester MARC awards during an assembly.
The semester MARC awards are awarded at the end of every semester. Students are not required to turn in a raffle ticket to be considered for these awards.
Teachers from each grade level come together to choose nominees based on category and gender. There are three categories:
- Most Improved
- Citizenship
- MARC (Motivation, Accountability, Respect, Confidence)
The categories are then further broken down into female and male categories.
Here is what Lynnette J. had to say after she received her MARC award for citizenship:
“When I got called up to accept my award I was really surprised because I couldn’t believe the teachers loved me so much to even consider me for an award. I wish I could find out who they were and thank them personally; it’s really an honor.”
Semester award winners receive the following items upon receiving their MARC certificate:
- Drawstring bag
- T-shirt
- Ice cream certificate
