Trump’s Plans

President Barack Obama’s second term is almost at its end. Candidates running for president are trying to get as many votes as possible. One of Republican Presidential candidates is Donald Trump. Donald John Trump is a 69 year old, born in Queens, New York.

Already, Donald Trump is claiming he knows the secrets that will “make America great again!” One of Trump’s plans is to deport DACA recipients. As Donald Trump proposed this idea, other Republican candidates began agreeing with it. Some say that they would redo what President Obama has done.

DACA is short for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Certain individuals that came to the United States as a children and meet a number of guidelines can request consideration of deferred action for two years (with renewal rights). The people that apply are eligible for work authorization.

Donald Trump also has some ideas on immigration. The one thing Trump keeps saying he will do is build a wall. Recently, Donald Trump was interviewed by Sean Hannity from Fox News Channel. Hannity stated that an off-the-record conversation he held with the New York Times was leaked. Trump did confirm this; he said that the conversation was leaked and was now all over the place. Hannity said that some of Trump’s immigration plans, like the wall, are open for discussion. Trump claimed that, yes, he could make some adjustments to the wall. However, the adjustments would be making it “two feet shorter or something.” However, the idea of building the wall is not negotiable.

Hannity continued by asking if deporting the 11 million immigrants was flexible. Could some of them possibly stay in the United States? Donald Trump only said that he would work on some system that is fair. Trump has also been saying that Mexico is going to pay for this wall: “People say, ‘Oh, how are you going to get Mexico to pay?’ A politician cannot get them to pay. I can.” Mexico’s former president, Vicente Fox, addressed this statement in a CNN interview. Fox made a comparison of Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler. He said that in some ways Trump is like Hitler “because Hitler began this way… he is going to use the power and just do what he wants without considering that he has a Congress.”

Donald Trump has many ideas on how to “make America great again.” If he reaches the presidency, then there will be many immigration changes in the United States.
