She Listens to the Song

Cyril Amakihe, Writer

She listens to the song

Letting the notes grab her hand,

And dancing within the living room.

Her body and arms flowing with no command,

Letting the wind take her steps.

She cried before

But now she no longer wept,

And smiled with no regret.

No nightmares crept in her mind

Just left as a shadow flashed upon her bright mood,

As she continues to dance with the wind.

The music still played in the background

Watching this woman follow it’s rhythm.

Dance lady, Dance

For life is too short just to stand.

Let go and free fall into the arms

Of the music record until day calls.
