Mr. Cifuentes, HMSA’s New Security Guard.

Amsah Khan

Looks like HMSA has got a new person at school, so let’s welcome Mr. Cifuentes! As you may know, he is the new security guard that recently started working here. Some Aviators think he’s scary and intimidating, when in reality, it’s the exact opposite! He’s extremely friendly and talkative to students, as he is always willing to give us Aviators advice. However, not many know this because they are too nervous to talk to him. Lucky for you, I did the work for you, so how about we learn some things about him to get to know him a little better.

Here are some questions below:

What are your hobbies?

“I used to go to the gym after school when I was 16. I still go there to this day! I also play soccer from time to time, I like to keep myself busy.”

Favorite food?

“That’s a tough question. I like fried chicken, especially the ones from Popeyes!”

What year did you graduate from HMSA?

“I graduated in 2016.”

Why did you decide to come back to work at HMSA?

“After I graduated, I always wanted to work with children, so I went to work at Zela Davis for a while. I eventually found out that there was a spot here at HMSA, so I thought it was a good opportunity to come and see the old staff members and to revisit my old school.”

What do you like most about this school?

“I like the environment, the atmosphere — I like that everyone is excited to be here and is very welcoming.”

Is there anything that changed here from when you went to this school?

“My office, that’s for sure — this wasn’t here when I was at this school! There are also different staff members. Everything else is pretty much the same.

Any advice for the students at this school?

“Don’t procrastinate! Make sure you do homework the day it’s assigned, not the day it’s due. Enjoy the four years you have here because time flies fast! Join sports, join clubs, do the most you can in the four years you have!”

Now you Aviators get to know a little more about Mr. Cifuentes! Hopefully you don’t think he’s still intimidating, but know him for what he really is: a friendly and nice guy!
